Photographer/Writer Michael Major lived in Syria in the early 1990s during a time of relative peace under the secular rule of Hafez al-Assad. This photo book chronicles his travels throughout the country and shares his personal observations of a happier time in Syria. Through his photographs and personal stories, Major documents life in Syria before the country was torn apart by the current unrest.
